Blog Conferences
Blog Conferences, especially for women, are becoming more and more popular. The closest large conference to us is probably Blissdom, held in Nashville, Tennessee in just a few weeks. There are tons of other conferences stretched across the country throughout the year.
As you may know, one of our goals here at Arkansas Women Bloggers is to put together a blogger conference for women bloggers in and around the state. So, we want to know:
- Have you attended a blog conference in the past? If so, what did you think of it?
- Are you attending a conference in 2011? Which one? How did you choose?
- What is your favorite feature(s) of a women’s blogging conference?
- What would you like to see included in an Arkansas Women Bloggers conference?
Please leave a comment with your thoughts. Thanks, and happy blogging (and conferencing)!
If you want to know more about blog conferences, visit the Blog Conference Guide for the (Un)Experienced site, which includes a list of upcoming blog conferences, and posts on what to expect and how to prepare.

The Oh Baby family is growing and we want YOU to join us! Every week this winter we’ll be running contests to get to know you – customers, readers, fellow bloggers! Let’s get started with an easy one, shall we?
Every baby is cute – we’ve got the Oh Babies to prove it! We’d love to see yours and hear what makes your little bundle so incredible! Did we mention prizes? This fun package is perfect for baby and includes all of the following:
- Super cool and trendy Oh Baby onesie
- Ultra fashionable PVC/BPA-free toddler bib
- Way hip Oh Baby bumper sticker
- PVC/BPA-free sippy cup
- Chic and practical Oh Baby tote to carry it all around
- And… the chance to be a featured Oh Baby!
For a chance to win this week’s amazing prize pack, including the opportunity for your baby to appear as a featured Oh Baby, post a picture on your blog of your baby eating (and being cute and stuff) along with a bio or story about your baby. Please include a link to Oh Baby Foods (http://ohbabyfoods.com/index.html) and the Oh Baby Foods Blog (http://ohbabyfoods.blogspot.com/) somewhere in the post. Thanks! Then go to the Oh Baby Foods Blog and leave a comment with the link to your post.
We’ll round up all the posts on Thursday, January 13th and choose the winner!

Museum of Discovery Launches “MOD Voices” Guest Blogger Series
Little Rock, AR (September 1, 2010) – The Museum of Discovery is launching a guest blogger series to its blog. The series, titled “MOD Voices,” launches Labor Day, September 6, and features a new entry from a variety of writers every Monday.
“What better way to extend the Museum experience than through an online, interactive community,” says Nan Selz, executive director. “We originally intended this to be a monthly feature but the response has been so great that we’re full every week through December!”
MOD Voices will cover topics from the traditional (cold blooded creatures) to the more bizarre (science of facial hair). Writers include First Lady Ginger Beebe, Kelley Bass, Amy Bradley-Hole, Savannah Butler, Ryan Byrd, Brant Collins, Chuck Gatlin, Natalie Ghidotti, JoBeth McElhannon, and Jennifer Trafford.
Those interested in contributing to MOD Voices may contact Katie McManners at kcmcmanners@amod.org or (501) 396-7050 ext. 214.
