Abundance of Food {Wordless Wednesday}

By Renee Birchfield of Married and Hungry

This is what holiday meals look like for me. Some of you may have similar views. But many people in Arkansas do not have such fortune. Arkansas ranks as one of the highest in food insecurity. 28.4 percent of kids in Arkansas don't know where their next meal will come from. That is way to many and unnecessary and solvable. Tuesday after Thanksgiving, December 1st is Giving Tuesday. A day where after your holiday shopping deals you can give back. Support Arkansas Hunger Alliance and give that day.

Renee shares her favorite things in life at Married and Hungry. Hoping that her newlywed situations and thoughts will help another new wife out there, and to let them know they are not alone. Being a self-proclaimed food nerd, with a degree in Food and Culinary Science, she shares her recipes and experiments. Her and her husband call Central Arkansas home for now. You can find her at home making the kitchen a mess, trying to cross stitch, or playing with their two dogs. Keep up with her over on Twitter, and Married and Hungry’s Facebook page.

Risk {Wordless Wednesday}

By Jamie Smith of Jamie’s Thots

Sometimes we have to take a risk and turn down a road where we don't know where it leads and the path looks rough. This shot was taken when we got lost in rural Kansas trying to find a wedding reception.

This toad has lived in our backyard all summer. He takes the risk of getting killed by our dogs or drowning in their pool just so he can get something to drink (there are easier water sources available to him). Instead of leaning gingerly, he jumps in. There are days I can't decide if that's brave or crazy. Either way, a person can learn from a toad.
